Proven values, new impulses
Werner Schmid founded SCHMID as a sole proprietorship in 1982. This vision gave rise to SCHMID Anlagenbau GmbH and SME GmbH – both with deep roots in Vorarlberg and a clear view beyond the country's borders.
Today, SCHMID Anlagenbau GmbH is a medium-sized, internationally active business based in Göfis with an additional design office in Egg. True to our motto “From Göfis to the world,” we stand for technical competence, reliability, and a handshake mentality – rooted in the region and active worldwide.
In August 2025, SCHMID Anlagenbau GmbH was handed over to new, familiar hands: Daniel Schwarzmann and Fabian Kinzl jointly took over the management. The previous owner and managing director Stephan Schmid, who shaped and built up the company over decades, is handing over operational responsibility but will remain associated with the company in an advisory capacity.
For our customers, this step means one thing above all else: continuity. Quality, flexibility, technical expertise, and partnership-based cooperation remain unchanged – complemented by new impetus and forward-looking development of the company.

Technology meets responsibility
Sustainability is part of our everyday life. We generate a large part of our electricity requirements ourselves with large-scale photovoltaic systems. The welding hall is powered entirely by solar energy. Five company-owned e-charging stations supply our electric vehicles with self-generated electricity – this is how we work and drive with the power of the sun. In this way, we combine economic activity with environmental responsibility – consistently and for the long term.
