Here at SCHMID Anlagenbau, we have specialised in one area of our portfolio in the project planning, construction and commissioning phases of “conveyor belt technology for punching waste”. Anywhere where cardboard boxes and paper are processed, we are confronted with the problem of paper and punching waste. A waste transport system that doesn’t work properly can lead to prolonged downtimes and production stoppages, meaning that expertise in this area is even more important. We have 35 years of experience in this area under our belts.

The solution is found in the detail

As is often the case, the crucial differences lie in the smallest details. This is where the decision is made as to whether a conveyor belt system works day after day without any problems and can be relied on. Dimensioning, clean transitions and seals, belt run monitoring systems, high-quality materials and much more are decisive factors for keeping the availability of the systems at a high level. Contamination under, next to and above the transport systems is another important point other the functionality. A well-coordinated system reduces this contamination to an absolute minimum.

SPACE – A UBIQUITIOUS TOPIC

One thing is for certain – the production machines always come first. These must be positioned in the best place and oriented in terms of material flow technology. This then means that the paper waste disposal is positioned at peripheral zones. Whether the waste is removed directly under the production machine itself or in pits, in the basement below or from the ceiling – the task here is to use the available space.
